I am trying to get some coralline growing on my live rock. I bought some from the store, with a good amount of purple on it, along with some really nice dead rock. I then had some 15 year old rock from an active tank given to mr to add to it, and it has a brown algae that is now showing after I put it in my tank under my new lights. Is this good or bad algae and if so how can I remove it? Thanks

it sounds like diatoms and they quickly burn themselves off after they use up all the silicates in your water
