help with 55 gallon refugium

If you were to build an ultimate refugium to support a reef, what would you do? I have a 55 gallon aquarium cycling and its sole purpose is to filter my reef DT. I need as many suggestions as I can get as I am new to this. I also want it to look elaborate as it will be viewed just as much as my reef will.

I would def do a chambered refugium, using either chaeto and/or chalerpa for natural filtration and use led lighting, along with either carbon fiber or stainless steel braided lines, maybe a fancy shrimp or two just for looks. The plumbing would def have to be anything but clear piping because it gets pretty "dirty" down there, not exactly the prettiest sight
