I recently left on my honeymoon which was great. But when I return to my tank it was filled with algae, cause by me over feeding the fish with a timed feeder. Can anyone give me some advice on a better feeder?

I can't help you with the feeder question because my catfish need fresh food so I have to get someone to care for them if I am away, but its is better to feed a lot less than a bit to much, healthy fish could easily go a week with no food as a lot of them have to in the wild. Hope this helps

Sorry just realised this is a salt water tank, not sure if the same rules apply, hopefully someone else can chime in here.

Saltwater is the same. Healthy fish can god 3 or 4 days without feed. I'd set your feeder to feed every other day and don't feed more then they will eat in 5 minutes.
