Well about done with my cycle and I was just thinking. I had probally 7-10lbs of LR in the tank and about 5lbs of lace rock. How long should it take for the lace to get seeded and I guess start having the properties of LR? Should I be albe to see this take place? My lr looks alot different than the lace rock does.

from what I have read, it becomes live after a few days... doesnt take long for the bacteria to cover it.... as far as the algae growth... each tank is different and since I am fairly new, I am not sure on the rate of growth but you should start seeing some growth inside a few months

It will take a little while for the rock to get covered with coraline and look like your other live rock in a month or two.

OK cool the tank is still cycling and it look darker than before (the rock) but nothing like the other. I guess patience really is a key virtue
