middle of cycle

my cycle has been running for 15 days with a rotten shrimp. now my ammonia spike is down to 0 and nitrite is 0.25. the shrimp still dident rott away should i take it out now enyway?? and could i turn on the skimmer now?

Leave the shrimp in there, eventually it will rot away completely. I would leave the skimmer off for a couple more weeks ... I believe the skimmer will extract teh necessary stuff to complete a cycle. I could be wrong about this but it's what I have read!

Leave the skimmer off until you add inhabitants. Using it now will lengthen the cycle.
