Quiet 1200 gph return

I am looking to up my return pump to a mag 12 or something equivalent. The problem I am having is my mag 7 is loud, actually it's the loudest element on my tank. Anyone have any recommendations?? I need it to push around 1200 gph with a max of 1350. Thanks in advance.

It will be really tough to find a quiet pump that moves that much water. The Eheim universals are supposed to be about the quietest submersible pumps. I run one and am happy with it. My tank is in my family room, and quiet is a must. My skimmer is actually louder than the return...

However, I don't think even the largest Eheim universal/submersible pushes that much water.

You might have better luck if you go with an external, and have a really solid mounting surface for it to eliminate vibration.
