I am looking into reef lighting for a 30 gallon cube tank. Referring to the Lighting Guide on Marine and Reef (http://bit.ly/a9PSfV), I can use two Marineland Reef Capable LEDs (http://bit.ly/V5yLEC) for soft corals and LPS corals. Remember, two or them, not one. Price-wise, right now I can get two units shipped for under $320, which seems very reasonable for reef-lighting.
Two questions:
1) Having only had FOWLRs before, will I eventually be unhappy only being able to keep soft corals and LPS in my reef? Or is that typical and generally cool given the advanced requirements for SPS?
2) I have seen mixed reviews of these lights for reefs, both on this forum and others. Any more recent opinions?
Feel free to ramble on as much as you like!
