Sand - too much?

Have I put too much sand in and is that possible bearing in mind the sea bed is sand, lol.

I tipped a whole bag of live sand in without thinking, it looked ok until I then put the live rock in and had to move the sand to get the rock sitting on the bottom.

Now I have about an inch of sand all the way round, more in places. Will this cause problems for any of the fish or critters I might get. Will it be a problem fort tank full stop???

Let me know I will take some out while I can.
