ok i have been keeping reefs for years, i have always had halides on my tanks but cant really go with them this time, i have a 40 breeder reef that i need a light for? is a 6x39 overkill or ok, it had a 4x39 and the balliest went out and its cheaper to buy whole new unite than replace. i currently have soft corals (zoos, brains, leathers) and i dont wanna "bleach any of them im just not that sure with the output on t5 lights!!?

I got the same setup. I went with 6x39 just make sure if ur going to be running all ur lights, to have plenty of shaded areas! As i do believe a 40 breeder is 18 in deep? I have some mushrooms some polyps and a lps frogspawn branch the last pictures light is coloured like that because i used instagram on my iphone

Its a great light, is it from ebay by chance? If it is, make sure u state that u want 3 actinics with it, as mine came with 6 12k and 3 are more like 6500k but my corals still love it!! Muca591 was the seller, ships from NC. Its a bit overkill for any mushroom so put them in a shaded area, ull be able to keep acro and montis sps under this i would assume. As 239w / 40 is about 6 w per gallon
