Upgrading, LiveRock

I currently have had a 30g saltwater tank, recently algea has started to grow on my live rocks. I have had these same rocks in my tank for over a couple years. The rocks also have alot of nice purple color to them.... i am know seetting up a 55g and i am wondering when i cycle my tank and put the live rock from my 30g will the algea die off? or should i scrub it off from before if i dont like it? Also, will the purple color on my rocks die off and stop spreading??

You should be able to scrub off the algea with some Sw and put it in the tank and you should be OK. If some of your coralline does turn white it will eventually turn back to it`s colors. You should be OK if you scrub the algea off in Sw and hurry up and put it back in the tank.

It depends on the algea. You may need something with stronger bristles than a toothbrush.

Good luck.
