New Heater question

I got my via aqua heater from amazon today and I noticed there is some stringy on the bottom. It is coming out of the heater on the bottom. On the inside of the heater at the bottom there is string looking stuff but that is normal. HelP?

You need to post a picture but nothing should be coming out of the bottom of a heater, you sure it's not something stuck on the outside of the heater?

Does it wipe off or when you pull it is it attached to the heater? I'm not familar with that type heater, does it have a plastic cover guard?

Then it should wipe/pull off the glass heater.

Mine is almost completely submerged now. It seems that the heater is fluctuating the temp lots. Have to keep on checking.
