My clownfish went missing!

I looked in my tank today and I seem to be missing a clownfish. I've looked in the tank at every angle, can't even find a corpse. He was just fine yesterday.

I am sure he wasn't sick, and I've had him for over a year. The suspects are:

1. longnose hawkfish (he seemed to ignore the clown)
2. mushroom coral (they don't sting fish, do they?)
3. lots of mini feather-dusters
4. turbo snail
5. 4 green hermit crabs
6. a two-legged, non-aquatic thief

I have eggcrate over the tank, so he couldn't have jumped out. Could a hermit crab attack and kill a sleeping clown?

Do you have built in overflow? One of mine has gotten into them twice. Don't see any threats on your list.
LR hitchhiker?

What type of mushroom coral? The larger Rhodactis species can swallow fish. Even with the eggcrate you would be suprised how small of a space a fish can jump out of.

Clowns seem to sleep in a constant motion in a current I think. A crab definitely couldn't have gotten him while sleeping. When's the last time you saw him? If only overnight, I'd doubt if he'd have been completely consumed by crabs. But if a couple of days....?
