Hi there,
We have a 10 gallon tank and it’s been a bit rough stabilizing the water. We have soft water in our city and it’s been hard to control the nitrogen levels. We now have two adult female mollies after some deaths and about 12 3wk old babies. Surprise!! One of the mollies is very food aggressive and is chasing the other adult who is just recovering from an illness. We also think maybe she is pregnant too because she has a round belly. Today we put the aggressive/ pregnant Molly in our breeder net so the recovering one could eat in peace. What do you recommend? Do we need to move the babies out? Get another Molly? I don’t want more babies if we can help it.

Thank you for any advice!!
Anna

What are your water parameters?

Fish can act aggressively when their water parameters are unsafe.

Doing a couple water changes to get the water safe or hoping safer, if you do not have a test kit to find out for sure.

Also Mollies do better with some aquarium salt in their water. You mention that you have soft water from your tap water.

How were you getting the water stabilized?
