Hi, I had a fire eel about 4 months ago and it seemed happy and healthy it just hid a lot, then 1 day I came home and it was just dead! No signs of stress or illness at all, this put me off them for a while but I see 1 yesterday and had to try again, the shop assistant was a bit brutal with the net and it got a little bit damaged but I thought it will heal and I didn't want to put it back there so I took it home, it had a lot of marks on it but my water was perfect and he was eating well so I added a little salt to help and thought he would be ok but today he started kinda laying on his side and very lethargic and tonight he is hiding at the back and breathing heavy with the occasional gasp/choke kinda thing 
I don't think he will make it but was this caused by his injuries or am I doing something wrong because the 1st 1 seemed fine :/
Any help or thoughts greatly appreciated.
