Dead Pleco?

Do dead plecos float?

I have an 8 inch common pleco that I think is.. well... dead. However, he is not floating. He looks kinda limp, and while I was pruning plants, I tried to make him move and he didn't move at all (when he normally does). I don't want to get the net after him if he isn't dead.

Anyone know?

If you poked him and he didnt move is not a good sign. Are his gills moving?

No. It doesn't look like his gills are moving, and on closer inspection his eyes are kinda foggy.

How sad. I don't know what would have caused him to die.

I've had him for about *thinks* 3 years, but Im not sure how old he was when I got him (he came with an ebay tank). He was about 5in long when I first got him.

I guess it is impossible to know if he was sick because they hardly do anything with the lights on.

Mine is out now, but the lights are off. He rarely comes out with the light on unless it is midnight and I haven't turned off the light yet.
