Our dwarf Gourami got a whitish mark about a week ago.
He is also very bloated, and also not as flamboyant as he always is. He is keeping at the top of the tank.
I read that it could be a fungal infection. Can anyone please confirm, and also if you have special tips (he is our favourite!)
Our tank: 50 liter, 30 × 60 cm size. Other inhabitants are 5 neon tetras, 1 bristlenose, 4 rummy-nose tetra, 2 serpae tetra, 2 clown leeches (the one clown leech are very skinny for a while now as well)
Change water regularly and try not to overfeed.

He is however going to the top, while that article says iridovirus makes them sit at the bottom.
He is now sitting at the top of the tank next to the filter.
Is there anything I can do to help him - garlic/salt?

Fungus only attacks damaged or dead tissue. The pictured lesion might be a separate issue.
Your Gourami is very colorful, making it difficult to see the noted bloating. Upon closer examination, it looks like scales are starting to raise. The Gouromi might be in the early stage of "Dropsy".
If the fish is still eating you might try garlic, or medicated food.
