My male betta has a fluffy looking white protrusion coming out of his body near his fins. It has been there for a while, maybe a couple of weeks, but it is quite small so I hadn't really noticed it. He seems to act like a normal betta, possibly a bit slow because he has large fins, but seems healthy other than this white bit. I was wondering if it could possibly be an anchor worm, but the shape looks slightly different. I've only had him for a month and a bit for context.
