help figuring out how my fish died.

So I'm a beginner in this hobby. I started about 6 days ago. I bought 3 fancy guppies on the second day and on the third day I bought 1 panda Cory and a algae eater. And on the third day one of my fancy guppies died. I was shocked because I didn't know what I did wrong. So on the 3 day I went back and bought one more panda Cory and 2 glo fish. And today one of my glo fish died. Which was kind of dumb because I just barley did the water change. Please help me. I want to become an expert on fish's

Thai is geared towards beta fish but explains the cycle pretty well. Also how large is this tank? And what kind of algae eater

I have a 10 gallon fish tank.

It does sound most likely deaths are related to tank not being cycled. This is where bacteria will convert fish waste (ammonia) to a safe compound (nitrates). A water test kit is well worth it.
