HELP! My gourami has dropsy

It's been about a month now since I've noticed that my gourami was extremely swollen, he has a pine cone effect. I've put him in a hospital tank and have been treating with epsom salt and the condition has not gotten better or worse actually, any suggestions please?!

I've only had a few fish over the years that exhibited "dropsy". None survived. As you probably know dropsy is not really a disease it's usually the last symptom of some type of intestinal bacterial infection. You have done a great job with your current treatment just to have kept the fish alive this long. If the fish is still eating you might try a medicated food. Maybe another AA member can suggest a certain brand that has worked. Good luck.
