Horribly Torn Fins

Today I came home to find my male Serpae Tetras fins horribly nipped and ripped. He was cowering the the corner of the tank trying to hide from the two larger female Serpaes. I'm afraid he could get a bacterial infection from his ripped fins, is there anything I can treat him with to prevent that?

You'd have to find a sanctuary first for your male. I've seen fins grow back but I don't know to what extent he was hurt. I heard of people using Melafix and Pimafix for the fins. There's also Stress Coat.

I also find that a dose of both Pimafix and Melafix help prevent infections due to bacteria and fungus.

Thanks so much for the tips, I am heading to my LFS tomorrow to get a few fish and I will grab some Melafix or Pimafix. I will update on how he is doing.

Most folks use both products at the same time to cover a wider spectrum of ailments.
