Male Kennyi not getting better

I have a 5" Male kennyi with a 1/4" dia sore just behind his jaw, on the side of his face. I have had him in QT for almost a month now, and have been treating with Maracyn for 2 weeks. While it doesn't look like it's getting worse, the sore does not look like it is getting better. Does anyone have any reccomendations for treatment?

Once you finish the round of Maracyn (I'm assuming you just used Maracyn and not a combo of Maracyn and Maracyn2?), I suggest clearing the tank of meds (partial water change and carbon in the filter for 24 hrs) and trying something with oxytetracycline in it, like Kanacyn. Its possible the bacteria causing the infection is not affected by the antibiotics used in the Maracyn.

May or may not be a dumb question, but are you performing regular maintence on your QT tank (water changes, vacuums, checking parameters, etc.)? You may be exacerbating the problem if you are not.

Perhaps a switch to maracyn-2 (different than maracyn) will help you out.
