Something wrong with tire track eel, help!?

I noticed about a week or two ago my 4 year old tire track eel had a white mark on it and i think it was from a scratch it got on a rock when it was digging under them. Just now i have noticed it doesn't shut its mouth, it keeps it open and breathes kind of funny. In its mouth you can see a big bump that kind of looks like a growth or something on the left side of its mouth where its teeth are. What is this and how do i fix it? Please help.
