So this bump appeared a few weeks ago now and seems to be getting bigger. At first he seemed normal but now hangs out by himself, stays more at the bottom or middle of tank. Doesn't eat as much...I'm wondering if I should put him out of his misery or hang on there? Any thoughts???

Whoa...is it only on one side? You can try feeding him boiled, shelled peas, it could be bloating. But it could also be a tumor. I would just keep an eye on him, and see how he fares (eating, swimming, etc.), and if he starts going downhill, I would probably euthanize. :(

Yes it's only the one side and now it look's like his body is curving? Thanks for the reply...btw :). I don't want to give up cause some days he seems better but I don't want him to infect my tank.

Well, it could possibly be internal parasites, and you could just try out some anti-parasitic food after trying the peas.

So he didn't make it through the night :(. Oh well at least I didn't have to kill him and from what I can tell the other fish are fine. Thanks for your help I will remember if there's a next time.
