Hi all,

Does anyone have any idea what is wrong with my ember tetra?

It has creamy white sides and is extremely bloated. It’s been like this for weeks. It schools with the other fish and seems to behave ok.

To provide some background, this particular school of tetras have been problematic since the day I got them. They were very pale and colourless for ages and stopped eating altogether, but eventually coloured up a bit after treatments for flukes and parasites. They are still very picky eaters and have minimal appetite.

Tank water parameters are all fine.

Sorry the pics aren’t great. The tank lights were dimming for the night.

Thanks in advance for any help / advice. :)

Have you tried treating the fish for constipation?

Isolate the fish and dont feed it for 3 or 4 days, if that doesnt work try feeding boiled, shelled pea. Move onto epsom salt dips after that if you see no improvement.

That sounds like a good plan - thank you. It’s now in the QT and will follow your suggestion. :)
