Algae?

Can anyone help me identify this type of algae or whatever it is. It seems to be spreading even though my lights are off most of the day.

Looks like bryozoans. They're cool, harmless hitchhikers

The stuff on the rocks? Sorry if I wasn't specific in my original post.

So it's not bad and not harmful to the tank? It looks like it's in the beginning stages correct? When I look at photos online it looks a little different.

I could be thinking of something else but it doesn't look like algae.

Well thanks...I just noticed it spreading and although it's not green like algae is...I wasn't sure that it was...and it seems like it's just flowing with the current and might possibly be easily removed with a toothbrush...but if it's not a danger or detriment to my tank then I won't bother...thanks again.

Is it just growing in areas of low flow?
