I got a frag off a person in my reef club and this appeared last night. Is this reef safe? Is this Asterina?

It looks like one to me. I can't remember if they are harmful to corals or inverts.

Well I think to some yes, and some no. I just read how fast they reproduce so I may put it in my fuge at least until I figuresomething else out.

I have them in my main tank, have had for years and not had any issues.

Hmm, interesting. Thanks Hara. I had a guy tell me they munched on his Kenya Tree.

dunno what to say except if you look at my most recent FTS, you can see nothing is suffering from the effects of at least a hundred of them in there.

If you have sps's in the tank, I'd keep an eye on it. Otherwise, I'd go with the innocent til proven guilty mentality. Most are just detrivore consumers and completely harmless.

I have huvdreds in my tank and no problems in the years I`ve had them. No SPS in my tank.
