Please Identify this for me

while I was cleaning my tank I saw this crap crawling on the rock. it looks like a salt water leech? I can only describe it with one work "fugly". I put it in a lito vial right now, I need to know if it is safe to put it back to my tank.

It is a chiton and a wonderful addition to your tank. It is a film algae grazer and completely harmless.
 
Cindy, I don't know how you do it, but once again you amazed me with your abliity to identify critters from blurry pics.
 
Ok... how the heck did you come up with that, with that fuzzy picture! LOL... I mean, I know what a chiton looks like, but all I see are fingerprints!
 
I can very clearly see the plates along the body. lol I've seen them many many times, that helps. :)
