Got this as a freebie. It is reddish with a green iridescent top. Sorry for the bad pic. Any ideas?

It's a zoa of some persuasion. I have no familiarity with the "brand names" that so many stores use to sell them. They are very hard to I'd even in person as the species tend to be highly variable depending on conditions. Their size and color changes quite quickly to suit their current needs.

Absolutely. Looks more along the lines of the Palythoa genus. They tend to be taller. The big ones can be quite tall indeed.
 
Button polyp is a generic term for zoanthids, and the one that I would generally use. It is a safe name. A lot of be people today want specific names though, and that is very hard to do. It has led to multiple names for the same thing.
