twirly white objects

No idea what these are, but I recently noticed a bunch of them all around my biggest live rock.

Any ideas?

I'd say it looks like egg spawn of some kind. Are they growing or do they just appear and stay the same size?

They are spirorbid worms. Harmless filter feeders.

Is it a hard calcium deposite or more of a soft jelly material?

I see eggs deposites that look very similar to that picture all the time, but they are soft so if it's a hard tube, then it's the worm.

It's hard and they don't move anywhere.. so I guess they're worms which is good news.
