I have these light orange, scaly blobs growing on one of my pieces of LR. I think its some sort of soft coral/ Does anyone know what they are?

I have yellow one and white ones and orange ones. They are all over my tank. I`m ready to get a fish that eats sponges but I`d be afraid they would eat my corals also.

Are sponges ok/limit to ho wmany of em or anything? or any way to control them if they get out of hand? I have 2 in my 5 gallon..also can they survive without light? one ofthem was on the underside of the peice of rock I got from the LFS, and how I placed my rock, is still underneath it and only gets a small fractio nof light from reflection off the CC

Most of mine are hiding also. They are actually good for the tank as they are filter feeders. But to me when they start being too many it gets a little unsightly.

They tend to sprout up where ever they feel comfortable.
