What is this? plz help ID???

i am very new to saltwater tank. Just started this tank about 3 month ago.
I have million other questions i guess i will go one at a time.

When i got the rock there was no growth on it. But this thing keeps growing.
Is it good or bad? How do i care for it?????

It is a macroalgae. It will remove nutrients for you but could get out of control. If you have a fuge you can put some in there. Otehrwise just keep it under control and it should be beneficial for you.

Get the book 'Reef Invertebrates' by Calfo and Fenner, it will help you will all of these sorts of things (as will their chapters on live sand, live rock, refugiums, etc.).

That is great. Anemones are tough to do (and can be tough on the other inhabitants) so something they can use as a surrogate is great for them.

Get that book, it is amazing.
