It's a green macro algae, neomeris annulata - Caterpillar Weed. Pull them out if you can. They can become a nusiance.

i always had them pop up early on then die off unexpectedly. i have seen tanks on line that have been overrun with them, but i can't seem to be able to grow them for very long..
