What do you guys think about adding an Otto and more plants?

Definitely more plants. And perhaps a background? I just switched to a black background and it really makes the colors pop! I have black substrate, too. ( To save money i am trying a very large black trash bag taped on the back of the tank as suggested on this forum. If the creases go away I may keep it. It also has a sheen to it I don't care for so I may buy black background at my LFS. But at least it hides the cords.)

Ottos prefer to stay in groups, so i wouldn't add just one. As for the otto's tank requirements..... Hopefully someone knows and will help you out

how long has this tank been set up? do you regularly test water? otos need a well aged tank with clean stable water to thrive

Almost a year set up.

How big is it? I'd definitely increase the number of neons- not only are they happier and behave more naturally in larger numbers, but they look superb too

Definitely no otos though. There are plenty of threads on stock options for a 10g though

PWC added 5lb more gravel and cleaned and changed cartridge.
