Is that an okay wood to use? My dad has some extra white pine 2x4's and was wondering if I could use those for my stand....

Have you decided what type of stand to build? Are you using the GARF plans or something else?

To answer your question, white pine 2 x 4's are perfectly OK for the tank stand. It's easy to cut and it stains/paints well. Just make sure that the pieces you have aren't warped or twisted.

Im going to use plans for fishtips.com and double check with the garf plans as well
I will have to check with my dad to see if they are warped or twisted.. they might have been outside for a few weeks which concerns me
