I removed this bamboo from my aquarium as it started to turn yellow about a week ago. I pulled it out and put it with some others by the window but it still appears to be going down hill. Can I turn this around or is it just going to continue doing this?ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1448595078.848654.jpg

If it was fully submerged then it began to rot and why it has yellowed.

Wasn't fully submerged only about half, does temperature have anything to do with this?

I wouldn't think so.

It looks like there is healthy growth at the top so maybe it's just a phase.

It could be temperature. Is it in a draft or anything? I am not sure that anything can really be done once the stalk turns so yellow. That is typically a sign the plant is on its way out. Other options include excess fertilizing, and too much sun.
You could try cutting off the stalk at the yellow part and trying to revive the green base. If it was me, I would just get another one. Up to you though. :)
