Yesterday I bought a new light and I thought it went gradually but it didn’t. And I didn’t know if it was harmful or annoying to the fish if i just change the settings quickly. I also didn’t know if having the night mode of it on at night may be to much for them and if I should just turn it off at night. For currents is there a way to make them a little less strong? Any help is appreciated I’m kinda new to this..

Lighting: My aquarium lights are on about 5 hours/day.
They come on just before night, and shut off 5 hours later.
They just turn completely off, in a dark room, and the fish
don't seem to care one bit. As with most things fish, I find
keeping it consistent is the most important thing. They'll
get used to it.

Current: Depends on the type of filter you're running.
Most canister filters allow you to adjust the flow rate with
valves. If you have an OTB filter, move it to one side of the
tank, and the other half of the tank will have less water movement.
Directing the flow of the water can be done in most tanks, you
just need to figger it out.
