Jamaica Vacation Pictures ... and Wedding!!

Well ....

We just got back from Jamaica on Sunday and I figured I would post a few pics!!! Jamaica is certainly a beautiful country, although very poor ... it is very sad because on one side of the road in the mountains you will see HUGE houses and then on the other side little make-shift shacks. The people are very humble and very kind (at least in Ocho Rios).

We got Married on Tuesday and while it was a little cattleish it was very nice! We started calling it "Las Jamaica" because every time we turned around there was another wedding going ... at least 4 a day!

We did some Snorkeling, took a Catamaran Cruise to Dunns River Falls, Tubed down the White River and really just relaxed! I have no pics yet of Snorkleing I have to wait for them to be developed and then scan them in!

We stayed at Sandals Dunns River, Ocho Rios.

I would highly recommend this property especially if your looking for an all inclusive getaway designed specifically for couples. NO KIDS!!!

Nice rooms, Great beach (all watersports included), nice resturaunts, good bars, big pools, 2 hot-tubs, nice spa for massages, great night life with a different activity planned each night.

Minutes away from the world famous Dunns River Falls and shopping district ... Island Village, where you will also find a Jimmy Buffet's MargaritaVille and some nice CHEAP jewellery stores!

We didn't venture out of the hotel unless it was with a guided tour as Jamaica is very poor and the crime rates are rather high. But you will see that the people are very humble and nice (in most areas)!

Many of the tours can be booked right from the tour desk at the hotel and they even have special nights dedicated at Margaritaville for Sandals guests, they will shuttle you there and back for free!!

The falls are a must visit, very neat ... 900 feet climb to the top of the falls from the beach in VERY COLD water!

All in all a great place to visit, I have heard that Negril is a little more up tempo and a kind of PARTY town. But if your looking for a laid back expeirience then Ocho Rios is the place to be!

awwwwww thanks!! We have been together 4 years now, and finally decided to take the plunge and make it official!!! Although nothing seems different it makes it special to marry someone you truely know your in love with!
