My dad likes the Beta sharks, but our aquarium is only 15gal so I'm trying to talk him into building an aquarium with me

I am not familiar with beta shark, perhaps bala shark? If you plan to keep one, please keep in mind that they grow gigantic and are better suited to a public aquarium.

There is a book on E-bay that talks about making acylic aquariums. You would have to do a search.
