Aquascaping plant help!

Alright need some help. This my crappy sketch.
Do you guys think i should change the sand bottom to a hydrocolotyle sp japan carpet, or leave it with the ADA mekong sand?

Honestly it only depends on which look you prefer. Do you like the look of the second tand with the sand substrate visual or do you like the look of the tank bottom being totally covered by a carpet plant. Our arguement, I mean discussion here is I like alittle substrate showing, my daughter like a completely carpeted bottom. Right now with things are swinging her way. So, what do you like best?
 
Do you have a pic of the current tank? I agree that it's largely a matter of preference, but imagine trying to keep the borders tidy.

Yes your right, but thats why id like uour guys opinion :) im so torn! The carpet is nice, but it would probably get outa hand and id have to thinit often, where as the sand looks so much neater but not plants.

Sorry, its going to be my new 60-P. ya they would be difficult to maintain, but if the rock level was high enough and i only put down a half inch of aquasoil or sand, it would kinda of be in a ditch, so it would be kinda contained
