Hey Guys, I put together my planted aquarium and have a problem.

The water is extremely cloudy and the drift wood has developed a fuzzy cloudy forcefield type of thing all around it! I am not sure what to do??

The tank has been up for 2 days. The first day the water was a little murky. The second it got worse.

My questions are:

Why is it so murky?
What should i do?
Is it safe for my plants?

Please help!

Could you add a photo?

If the stuff around your driftwood is like a white goo its harmless. Just scrub it off and in a few months it will be completely gone.

I'm guessing you didn't boil your driftwood. I have had this too.. Appareantly my pygmy cories loved it, they ate it all.
Will go away on it's own though!

Thanks so much about the goo!
will the water clear up also or should i do something about it?

Cloudyness is probably from the sand. It's quite normal. You can do a PWC, but since you have no fish yet i don't see the point. I always do a 50% waterchange once a week.
