How well will dwarf hairgrass grow in a dirted tank?

Depends on the lights, ferts, and CO2/carbon.

I'm going to be using a 10 gallon tank. I'm planning on using some miracle gro with small chunks of clay then top that with gravel. For co2 I'm going to make my own set up with yeast. As for the lights I'm not to sure I need to go to the store and get some.

You have to get some high light which I doubt you'll find at a shop. You'd do best to shop online for them.
