So I'm walking around at the lake on the outside of town and notice that the water is it's lowest it's ever been and the shore line is about forty feet further in than what it would be normally. Im noticing these patches of grass that couldn't have grown as thick as it is in just a few weeks of emersion. Is there an American dwarf hair grass? Google brings up needle spike rush, is this the same thing? I've never grown dwarf hairgrass but the roots show it's spreading by runners and the blades are very thin and a little over an inch tall. Thanks for any help.

I found my answer. Eleocharis has around 250 species and are located in the Americas and australia. Thanks Wikipedia.
