I am starting a new 10 gallon planted low light tank. I am ready to head to the store today to purchase a few fish and plants. I have had the sponge for my filter in my main tank for about 3 months now so I don't think I need to worry about the cycle. My question is about how many neon tetras I can put in a 10 gal. My plans are to have neon tetras, cherry shrimp, and mts. Would it be ok to put 10 neon tetras in this tank? I don't want to overstock but I would like to be able to have about 10 tetras in there.

I wouldn't go more than 10, but I think that'd be fine.

And I agree, if you move the filter sponge from your cycled tank over you likely won't see a cycle at all.

Looks like a good list. Be sure to include something for the shrimp to grab onto. They stress out otherwise.
