java fern going black

any tips on what i should do, my java fern has black patches, and on some of the tips, should i remove from tank? or is it ok, im useing king british plant food every 14 days, they just dont look to healthy

If you think it's rot you could just cut it off. I had a sword that looked like that, and it turned out to be algae. I put some ottos in there and they cleaned them up like new! But you could go either way. Leave it in and see or prune it out.
 
What are your nitrate levels? Tips reabsorbing can be a sign of a severe nitrogen deficiency.
 
think il leave it for a while see if it gets better, if not il cut some leafs, or might look into getting some ottos too, thanks for help
 
yeah iv checked the water an my levels were abit off so iv done a half water change, its a newish tank am running the new filter with my old filter also.
