My compacta in my 20 long tank isn't looking to well. I am dosing flourish comprehensive with a dual t8 bulb fixture. I can't seem to find any information on this plant. I put a root tab in the vicinity just to be safe. Leaves are brown and one has a slit in it.

I'm not personally familiar with this plant but the thickness of Tue stems leads me to believe this was grown emersed. That means the plant was grown out of water and will need to adjust to underwater life. Did you buy it in a plastic package by chance?

Just keep at it and it should convert to the submerged form and start growing.

Oh okay yes it was in a gel pack

The plants will actually have to change it's leaves to immersed growth and often plants can look pretty sad during the transition. Just be patient. I also suggest using at least Seachem Flourish Comprehensive weekly because as it grows and once in it's immersed form it will use a lot of nutrients in the water.
