I have a 55 Gallon Freshwater (non-planted) Community Tank.

Is there any advantage to having Moss Balls in the tank? Do they provide any benefit? If so, how many?

Thanks

I have one in my tank and I have heard that they act as a natural filter a little. And you should squeeze it in you dirty tank water after a wtc.
But they really look cool. And that's the best reason to buy a moss ball! They also require very little maintenance!

LOL I'm only answering because of your display pic.
I've never heard of moss balls acting like a filter, it would essentially be the same as other plants with small bristles. Although moss is much finer, so in a way it has more surface area for good bacteria.
Other than that, it looks cool and natural once it starts to spread.
Tie it to driftwood for the best result.
