i wanted to get plants for my 20 gal tank and i wanted to hear what people think about the plants that come in tubes. it says they are snail free. petsmart sells them

98% of those plants are not aquatic. The only two exceptions are Anubias and Amazon sword, but they take a little while to transition, and they're priced very high IMO.

Agreed with rook. Do some more research on plants and their requirements, and then consider buying from a reputable Lfs or online. Aquabid.com and forsythaquatics.com have some great low light plants for reasonable prices.

Avoid the tubes and know what you are buying before purchase. Checkout http://www.plantgeek.net . They have a great list of plants that are commonly sold as aquatic but will not survive submerged in your tank.

Good luck!

I agree with Fort. I'd avoid buying any of those plants from the chain pet stores and either find a LFS to buy from or look online.
