How do I use the root tabs? do i just put them in the gravel and wait

Yes, just bury it next to the plant you want and it will do all the work.

I have water wisteria, amazon sword, corkscrew vals,and another plant i forgot what it was called

I have plants all over the tank should I put one tab by each plant

Swords and crypt. Species are the primary root feeders, if you have any one those(like the sword) it gets a root tab.

Do i place it right by the plant or can the tab be a few inches away from it?

Try and get it as close as possible. I aim for a 4"×4" square for my Osmocote Plus root tabs.
