Setting up a tank.

I currently have a 5 gallon tank with two mollies and the bottom is blue gravel and fake plants but I kind of want to put sand and some live plants. Any suggestions?

Find a new home for the mollies is the first step.

Second step is decide if you want to keep the gravel or swap it.
Next step would be to determine your lighting, what exactly is the lighting setup?
Filtration?
Heater?

What types of plants do you like?
