Help. Well water.

Would iron content in well water have an affect on the quality of water in a saltwater tank? Need to know. I've tested my well water and I found nothing that showed on the API tests.

The API tests don't test for heavy metals, just the basics of what we want in a good salt mix for our livestock.
Iron can be beneficial for macroalgae, but it depends on the concentration. It's best to use RODI for mixing your salt and top off.

Invest in a test for iron. It could cause problems if its to high. Or get an RODI unit. Or last resort I've got RODI water from the machines at the supermarket and it was fine.

Thanks cmor. I discovered a new creature in the tank this morning. It looks like white thread...2 legs and the figure of a star where the legs join together. Any ideas. Good or bad.
